Aegon Religare Invest Maximiser : review

Posted by Admin on 0

Aegon Religare Life Insurance always surprises the market with their cost effective plans.

Their core strategy is aimed at providing the customer with the highest value.

Invest Maximiser Plan is the cheapest plan in the market in terms of premium allocation charge (Premium allocation charge takes away sizable amount of your premium).

There is no allocation charge from 5th year onwards.

Most insurers, for a regular premium policy charges you between 10-20% of premium (There are many ULIPS available in market which are step ahead of all and charge you anything between 20-30% in the first year) amount in first year and 2-5% for the rest of the term.

Aegon Religare Invest Maximiser Plan charge only 5% in the first year and 2% for the next four years!.

Allocation charge:

Year

1st Year

2-4th Year

5th >

Top up

Charge

5%

2%

Nill

1%

Eg. For Rs. 20,000 AP

1000

400*4=1600

Total: 2600 Only.

For Eg. If you are paying yearly premium of Rs. 20,000 each year then Allocation charge would be Rs. 2600 only for an entire term.

If we look at the other charges they are reasonable too.

Fund management charge is 1% to 1.25% of fund value depending on the fund you choose.

Policy Admin. Charge is Rs. 40 per month for year 2009 and 2010 and thereafter 5% of compounded increase will takes place.

There is no surrender charge from 4th year onwards which is also one of the good part of this policy as most of the ULIP comes with Surrender charge till 5th year.

12 switches are allowed each policy year free of cost .

Overall in terms of charges the policy is one of the best options available in the market.

Let us review other features of the policy.

Min. Premium

Rs. 12,000 Annual/Rs. 2000 Monthly

Term

25 years

Min/Max Entry age

90 days/50 years

Sum Assured

5 times Yearly premium

Special Units:

This is again a surprising feature of this plan.

After 10th year onwards at the end of every 3rd year there will be special addition of units to your account which will be 1.5% average month end fund values of last 36 months.

Partial Withdrawal:

From 3rd year onward one can withdraw partial amount, max. Amount that can be withdrawn is 20% of fund value at the beginning of month. Also there is systematic withdrawal facility available where automatically units will be redeemed at specific interval and amount is credited to your account.

On maturity total fund value will be paid.

On Death Sum Assured or fund value whichever is higher will be paid.

There are four fund options available in the policy and one can choose between any of them depending on the risk capacity.

One can also increase the premium during the term.

Conclusion:

Overall a good cost effective policy with nice features like Special fund addition.
